Florida State center Solomon Alabi, who was FSU’s star big man and “big” reason of success over the last two seasons, has declared today that he will enter the NBA Draft.
With the thought that he was coming back next year, many people had reason to believe that Florida State would be a force t be wrecking with next season, and although they still will probably be, this could really hurt them, especially inside when a powerful big man is on the opposing side. The Noles still have returning big men Xavier Gibson and Terrance Shannon inside, as well as swingman Chris Singleton, who pulled down many rebounds for FSU this year too. Jim Lamar also points out in his article that FSU has three new big men coming in next year, including 7 footer John Kreft. Also, on the top of that article from Lamar, is the official news release from FSU.
As some hope for Noles fans, Alabi entered into the draft as an early entry candidate. This means that he could pull his name out of the hat by May 8. Among people who have did this is Ty Lawson (sophmore at the time) in 2008, who continued his career to win an ACC POY, an ACC Championship, and, as a senior, the national championship.
